Bark HanDling

The whole bark handling process between debarking and combustion is included in Raumaster’s bark handling product line, including screening, shredding and pressing at the debarking plant as well as receiving, screening and crushing of external bark, storage and conveyor systems.

Depending on the required capacity, particle size and storage volume, we select the most suitable processing solution from our extensive range. Each solution is refined through decades of experience and continuous product development.

Receiving

With decades of experience handling diverse fuels, including bark and other wood-based biomasses, pellet, briquettes, peat, coal, recycled fuels, sludge, agricultural waste and by-products as well as solid recovered fuels (SRF/REF), Raumaster delivers robust receiving systems tailored to each application.

Our deep understanding of fuel behavior and logistics allows us to design systems that ensure smooth, uninterrupted material flow from the very first stage. Through integration to the receiving stations, pre-crushing systems can handle the processing of untreated, large-particle fuels, such as tree stumps, logs, recycled wood, and other commercial and industrial residues. This powerful combination ensures reliable and efficient fuel preparation, even under demanding conditions.

Our systems are always custom-built, based on careful consideration of fuel properties and the required capacities. A wide selection of equipment allows for scalable solutions, allowing for a large range of capacities. Fuel can be received via trucks, trains and ships, and fuel mixing can be performed immediately. We offer various alternatives to meet your specific needs.

Screening and Crushing

Screening and crushing are critical steps in preparing fuel for modern boilers. Raumaster offers a comprehensive range of screens and crushers, designed to eliminate impurities in fuels and ensure even particle distribution. Our systems effectively remove metals, stones, and oversized particles, keeping your process free of disruptions.

Our equipment is engineered for reliability, with a focus on minimising maintenance costs and easy maintenance. Raumaster’s robust, heavy-duty design keeps the screening equipment operating reliably.

Crushing is typically performed either by slow-rotating shredders and crushers, or high-speed cutting crushers. The equipment is always selected based on fuel properties and end-product quality requirements, ensuring reliable operations.

Fuel quality control is vital for economical and reliable power plant operations. Raumaster provides a wide range of sampling systems and equipment for use at the fuel receiving stations, screening facilities, or post-storage - tailored to client and regulatory requirements.

Sampling systems are available in manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic configurations, ensuring flexibility and precision in quality monitoring.

Storage

Our bark storage and reclaiming systems serve the largest pulp mills in the world.

The storages work with the first in – first out principle. When necessary, the storage feeding line can be equipped with spreading equipment, which makes it possible to mix different qualities of bark evenly throughout the storage building.

Our screw reclaimer product range holds a solution for all types of bark, including stringy bark, such as eucalyptus. Depending on the bark properties, we carefully select the screw design and materials to achieve the lowest possible wearing and to ensure long maintenance intervals. Our customers have valued the quality and durability of our products so much that we have supplied several hundreds of screw reclaimers to plants all over the world.

To ensure the highest possible heat value of dry pressed bark, it must be stored in a silo or, in a pile under a roof. Additionally, bark dust will not spread into the environment from a covered bark storage. In many cases, an A-frame storage is the most economical solution for storing bark.
