Large stock, readiness to serve their customers in various situations and constant development guarantee that you can rely on this technical solutions specialist every day – and that is exactly what Raumaster and Raumaster Paper are doing.
The 65-year-old technical solutions specialist Rauman Akku is a well-known name in town – it is an inseparable part of the region’s industry. When the person next to you tells you that they are going to Akku, almost everyone knows that they are headed to Hakunintie.
“Industrial maintenance is a large part of our service package. It involves hydraulics, pneumatics, transmission, bearings and more. You can find everything from handheld tools and electric tools to welding equipment and protective gear from our tool department”, explains Marko Virta, CEO of Rauman Akku Ltd.
“Our third important sector is fastening supplies, and we carry a wide range of them from bolts and screws to chains and cables. We also offer a new hydraulics service in which we build new and fix old at our workshop as well as at customer’s sites.”

Rauman Akku’s services also include shelving services and on-call services. Their large stocks consist of 35,000 items that guarantee a high level of service readiness.
“Our service level is constantly over 98, which means that out of a hundred products, 98 are immediately available. We also have so-called critical products in stock that can sometimes be more difficult to acquire.”
Raumaster and Raumaster Paper have collaborated closely with Rauman Akku for several decades. For example, the delivery truck visits the Sampaanala workshop twice during a workday. Items can also be delivered through an on-call service if the need arises.
“Our duty is to do our part in making their days successful. We also pack and label the supplies we send to installation sites in a way that makes it easy for Raumaster to assemble and deliver the entire delivery to the site. Exact labels make the installation process faster. We also do certain types of preparations.”
Several members of Raumaster’s staff collaborate with Rauman Akku. One of them is Jari Koivisto from the purchasing department. He has first-hand experience of the importance of Rauman Akku’s high level of service readiness.
“The collaboration covers virtually all of our sectors. The workshop, warehouse, equipment manufacturing, installation services and the spare part department all need Rauman Akku’s services. I do not even want to think about how difficult our work would be without Rauman Akku”, Koivisto ponders.
One clear partner expedites Raumaster’s own processes.
“We use some of the same suppliers as Rauman Akku does, and they have stated that there are not many comprehensive operators similar to Rauman Akku in Finland. With a very few exceptions, the items we use can be found in stock and we can get them very fast. We can, for example, send them a picture of our “issue” and get a suggestion on how to solve it quickly.”

Introducing AkkuStore and AkkuMatic services
The new AkkuMatic and AkkuStore services have been introduced at Raumaster’s Sampaanala workshop and warehouse. Both services boost and streamline daily work in regard to the procurement of spare parts and consumables, for example.
The AkkuStore service functions like a grocery store without a register. Several industry operators offer similar service models, but Raumaster wanted to develop the collaboration with the reliable, long-term local operator.
“Now we can get all the shipments of consumable goods from a single familiar supplier. All bills come from the same place, and everything is automated. We no longer need to monitor specific item quantities or when more of them need to be ordered”, Workshop Manager Esa Kariaho explains.
At the warehouse, the AkkuMatic service is used to order storage slotted items through a mobile device. Then, refills are delivered from Rauman Akku, and the items are shelved in the correct slots.
“At the warehouse, we have closely worked together with Rauman Akku every week and this new service is a great step in developing our customer relationship. Now we can automate and simplify all orders that have previously been made by phone or email”, Warehouse Manager Tuukka Degerman says.
