Every stage of a modern wood handling process is optimised to produce homogenous, high-quality fiber raw material with minimum fiber loss, minimum energy consumption and minimum environmental impact.

Log receiving
Raumaster offers a comprehensive selection of process-specific log receiving and pre-treatment solutions.
Different types of receiving tables are tailor-made according to the wood properties and capacity requirements of each customer. Our receiving tables can be accompanied by log aligners, slasher units and washing stations as required by the process.
In cold climatic conditions, Raumaster wood handling lines are typically equipped with a deicing conveyor, feeding log bundles directly to a debarking drum.
Debarking
Raumaster debarking drums are built to meet the debarking degree requirements of the mill with minimum wood loss. Our drums are available with several different types of support and drive systems. In rebuild projects, our debarking drums can be designed to fit existing foundations to save erection time and cost.
For demanding hardwood species like Eucalyptus, Acacia and mixed tropical hardwood, the RotoMaster rotary debarker developed by Raumaster is the optimal solution. Hard, stringy bark can be effectively removed and pre-shredded in the debarker, and minimum wood loss can be reached even with small-diameter plantation wood.
State-of-the-art control and process optimisation systems with on-line measuring instruments can be included in Raumaster debarking lines, enhancing stable operation of the line and improving overall yield.
Chipping
Raumaster chipper assortment includes heavy-duty disc chippers for all kinds of softwood and hardwood species, including horizontal and drop feed chippers for a large capacity range, along with single motor and multi-motor drives.
The advanced chipping geometry of our chippers enables superior chip quality with minimal wood loss, preserving the valuable fiber properties. There are several different knife systems available and comprehensive on-line condition monitoring systems can be included as well.
Raumaster chipper lines can be equipped with various types of washing stations, stone traps, separation rollers and metal detectors.
Water Handling
Reliable water handling systems for deicing, log washing, and stone removal prior to chipping are an important part of every Raumaster wood room.
Our process-specific water circulation systems are tailor-made according to the needs of each customer.
